➡Just 10 minutes more Mumma, I said to my mom

“Just ten more minutes, Mumma,” I mumbled, pulling the blanket tighter around me.

Mornings were never my thing. I belonged to the quiet of the night—the stillness, the solitude, the space to breathe. But after stealing a few more precious minutes of sleep, I finally dragged myself out of bed and into the shower, letting the warm water chase away the remnants of my dreams.

Today felt... different.

I slipped into my white Kurti, soft and familiar, pairing it with my favorite earrings—the ones that always made me feel a little more like myself. Blue denim, crisp and snug. Heels that clicked with purpose. A swipe of my favorite lip gloss, just enough to feel awake.

I grabbed my purse, took one last look in the mirror, and headed downstairs.

The day hadn’t started yet, but something told me it was already waiting for me.

I greeted my parents and took my seat at the breakfast table.

“Today’s your award ceremony,” my father said with a gentle smile. “Aren’t you feeling nervous?”

Yes, Dad—I’m incredibly nervous, I thought to myself.

Out loud, I replied calmly, “Not really, Dad. I believe in myself. If I truly deserve the award, I’m confident I’ll receive it.”

He nodded proudly. “Your name has been nominated, and that alone makes me very happy. Whatever happens today, it will be for the best. Whether you win or not, you’ll always be a winner in my eyes.”

“Thank you so much, Papa🥹🫶🏻,” I said, touched by his words.

Just then, my mother chimed in playfully, “If you two are done with the emotional speeches, maybe you can focus on your breakfast now.”

Dad and I exchanged a smile and responded in unison, “Yes, Boss.”😂

At 4:00 a.m., my alarm rang. Within 20 minutes, I was refreshed and ready to head to the gym. After a rigorous 90-minute workout, I returned home and dressed in my embroidered black suit—black, a color that always reminds me of the depth and mystery of darkness. I quickly skimmed through a few office emails before heading to the dining area for breakfast.

As I sat down, my mother voiced her concern: “Siddharth, every night you come home late, and every morning you leave early. Sometimes, you don’t even come home at all. Don’t you think your family deserves some of your time?”

My father nodded in agreement, gently adding that I should make an effort to spend more time with them.

I sighed internally, thinking, “If I stay here another minute, they’ll drown me in questions I have no patience for.”

I responded calmly, “Mom, there are days I stay at my penthouse due to work commitments. I have a lot on my plate, and I simply can’t afford to waste an hour.”

With that, I stood up from the table and walked outside, where my assistant Deepak was already waiting.

Soon after, I left for the office in my sleek black Mercedes-Benz.

Siddharth was seated in his chair, deep in conversation with his friend Arjun.

Once the call ended, he pressed a button to connect with Deepak.

Within a minute, Deepak entered the room and said, “Yes, boss.”

“Make all the arrangements for tonight’s award ceremony,” Siddharth instructed in a cold, emotionless tone.

“Okay, boss,” Deepak replied and walked out of the cabin.

Meanwhile, at Malhotra Designs, Tara was busy reviewing some sketches when a familiar voice spoke from behind. It was none other than her colleague, Aditya.

“Aren’t you going to the award ceremony tonight?” he asked.

“Who told you I’m not going? Of course I am!” Tara replied, correcting him.

“I’ve worked late nights for this award, sacrificed my precious sleep—and now, when it’s finally time to receive the reward for all that hard work, you’re asking if I’m going? Use some common sense, Adi!” she said in one breath.

“Okay, okay, my bad! And hey—congratulations in advance. I know you’re going to win that award for sure 😉,” Aditya smiled.

Tara nodded and got back to work.

~That’s all for today. Hope you enjoyed it ❤😊
